The adult fitness center features state-of-the-art outdoor fitness equipment catered to people 14 and up of all ability levels. Select equipment ranges from individual fitness stations targeting specific muscle groups to functional fitness stations focused on suspension training and high-intensity workouts such as HIIT and CrossFit. The layout and linear nature of the facility promotes circuit training for individual workouts or group training, creates an ideal environment for social interaction, and allows adjacent canopy trees to provide needed afternoon shade.
The Jim Haslam Sports Center is home to four Little League ballfields, a Challenger Field for children with disabilities, and the Haslam Fieldhouse, which serves as a communal hub during game days and as an event venue. All fields are reserved for league play only during fall and spring seasons. Contact lakeshorepark@icloud.com with requests to reserve fields or the fieldhouse outside of league seasons.
The Challenger Field is available for passive games of kickball or wiffle ball (batting baseballs or softballs is strictly prohibited) when not reserved or in use by Knox Youth Sports. The field can be reserved along with the Fieldhouse outside of spring/fall baseball seasons. Private instruction is not permitted without being registered with the City as a Program in the Park and reserving field space ahead of time.

Lakeshore Park is home to 6 pickleball courts that are available for play by reservation only.
A high school-size outdoor basketball court resides near the Northshore entrance to the Park. The court is available on a first come first serve basis.
Lakeshore Park is home to three irrigated soccer fields. The fields are maintained by local youth soccer organizations and are reserved for league play during spring and fall seasons. When not in league use or reserved, the fields are available for passive use. Volleyball, or other activities that require staking are not permitted due to field irrigation. Fields may be reserved outside of the league season by emailing Lakeshorepark@icloud.com. Private instruction is not permitted without being registered with the City as a Program in the Park and reserving field space ahead of time.

Lakeshore Park is home to several lawns that are available for passive use when not reserved. Groups or teams looking to host organized practices on any lawn within the Park must reserve field space in advance by emailing Lakeshorepark@icloud.com. Staking for sports nets or tents is not permitted on irrigated lawns within the Park. (Central Lawn, soccer fields, Marble Hall & Marble Pavilion surrounding lawns, Great Lawn at the Mound)

Hundreds of children participate in youth sports programs at Lakeshore Park every year. The programs include baseball, softball, flag football and soccer. There are programs for boys and girls ages 3 to 18.

Knox Youth Sports offers the following programs at Lakeshore Park:
• Spring and Fall baseball for boys and girls ages 3 to 12.
• Spring softball for girls ages 6 to 9.
• Spring Challenger League baseball for boys and girls of all ages with physical and emotional challenges.
• Fall flag football for boys and girls in grades K-5.
AYSO 279 offers Spring and Fall soccer for boys and girls from ages 5 – 19.
One Knox offers recreational soccer programs (2 – 8 year olds) and a competitive youth club (8 – 18 year olds).
